Reminder: The Mile is stand alone this year, on July 11th.... This means no State Fair, and the Carnies that go with it. Since EggFoo and his family will be elsewhere, this means the infield is open for spectating, up on the fence where you can feel the breeze and smell the Castor as they fly past at 130+!!! My pal FabMaster Mike Butler's team will be there racing this cool Ninja 650 based, *home built framed* racer...!!! BE THERE!!!!
I'll also point out The Magic Mile at DuQuion returns this Sat. 2 great mile track races within a week of each other!
I gotta say, the mile stands out more in my mind than the GP races the year I was there. Absolutely one of the most awesome races I've watched, ever.
Is it televised or streamed? I hate that they separated these events, but the state fair at the same time was a real PITA for them Im sure.
One of my biggest regrets recently is not making it up there a few years ago for the GP and FT when SR rode the TZ at the mile. I hate that I missed seeing him rip that thing around in person
And in somewhat related news, FlatTrack will be on TV and then on FansChoice.TV with a new program partnership-- http://www.amaproracing.com/ft/news/index.cfm?cid=63007 ...The 30-minute shows will air on weekends in each participating market, and will also be available for streaming on AMAProRacing.com and FansChoice.tv two weeks after their initial Sinclair/ASN telecast. Live streaming coverage of all AMA Pro Flat Track events will continue to be available at FansChoice.tv. ...
Not to poke Pat Poke:) but it was pretty dam cool! I was pretty hammered by then, and almost fell outta my seat when Kenny (or someone) asked Valentino if he wanted to try it....."Noo, Noo thank you, Yamaha no like" Good luck on the indy mile to whomever is running it. Also glad to hear Duquion is back....been there a couple times.

Dayum, sorry Pat, but hey Sean, we need a rubbing his nose in it thing-a-ma-bobber Icon deal. It was fascinating. those were not parade laps. That was the first time I ever saw KR ride in person. Sorry man!
