Saw this posted by a friend, figured I'd put it out to you, ya' filthy animals! Who here can hook a pup up? She's at a shelter in Green Cove Springs, FL: 904.269.6342 -- I can even throw in a few of my Christmas rags for tug-o-war sessions! This will be Layla's 3rd Christmas in the shelter. No toys under the tree for her, no special treats, no comfy bed, no family to love & cherish her. Just a concrete cage & a few hot dogs from me. Layla was adopted at the Mega event a few weeks ago. Even though her adopter tried all he could, she simply was not a good fit. So the heartbreaking decision was made to return her. I dealt with this personally & agree he made the right decision. Negativity serves no purpose here. Let's focus our energy on getting her in the right home. A home where her person isn't gone long for hours, where she can be the only pet, with someone who will be patient & give her time to decompress, adjust & trust that she won't be abandoned again. Layla will take work. But the reward will be worth it. She is a happy, good dog that has been dealt one bad hand after another. She really loves people, water & ice cream. 4 years old lab/greyhound mix. If you think you could help Layla contact Clay County Animal Care & Control.
I wonder if you could realign your infrastructure to reposition your strategic involvement within your communities outreach program to get that dog a laptop!
odd... we just had a huge no more homeless pet drive at the beginning of this month. There was something like 350 dogs adopted that weekend.
