I just checked and the are late 2009, is that normal? Seems like a long time between manufacture and sale. Pirelli supercorses dot btw. So how old are your tyres when you get them 'new'?

If you bought them NEW early 2010... Yeah that is normal.

If you bought them NEW early 2011... Yeah they have been sitting...

I have purchased Michelin's that were 3 weeks fresh!!! They smell strong like they just came out the oven... :D

And, I have rode on track tires that were NEW but manufactured two years old... This tires had a short life 4-5 Track Days or so and some street riding to bike night events... Then, they started to show dry rot... By Summer I would had NOT ride them anymore... But they held up air pressure until track season started again by end of Summer... Then I replaced them...

When did you bought them NEW?
If you recently purchase them, Where did you buy them?
If they have a lot of thread still, Are you hoping to get a lot of riding left out of these tires still?
    For Track use? With Warmers?
How do those tires look? Are they blue and burn up?

    Post a picture or two...

If you have two year old races tires that are new and you don't want to ride them, i will give you $100 for them

I said race tires. I run two year old Pirellis or Dunlops without thinking about it twice.

I've recently run Pirelli's DOT's/Slicks from late 09'. They were fine.

You're giving questionable advice. Two year old Pirellis or Dunlops can be like new. If stored properly. I've run three year old tires at trackdays

    Maybe so...

My experience was with a set of Avon Viper Extreme...

I do know how they were stored by ebay seller before I purchased them...

They look perfect when I got them... But with in a few months they show cracking and dry rotting with in 6 months...

Since then I been running fresh Michelin Tires...

As for this Shinko... I am hoping to sell it cheap to a Stunta to do a heck of a burn out!!!!

Thanks, no concerns tyre wise, I was more interested than anything as I never looked at the date before.
