I thought the motorcycle stuff initially came on Thursday but got moved to Tuesday later on. I swear I remember rushing home with my styrofoam box of turkey and dressing (Thursday menu at our restaurant) to watch the racing. Could be wrong. That was 24 yrs ago.
"Now that you called me by my name..." Once Upon A Time in The West is - for me - the ultimate pasta western....
That one's been on "my list" for quite a while. Now might be a good time to whittle the watch list down a bit.
I'm watching that next. At least it's free on Netflix. Watching the meeting between Ten Bears and the Grey Rider now. There's iron in dem words.
Notwithstanding the quality of your suggestion, the theme was old movies & Westerns, do try to keep up will ya?....
I can't believe you're that old and not seen it. FWIW, the opening scene is the best part. It has subtle things going on that sucker a viewer into making it believe-able. It's one of those portions that you can watch over and over. For shits and giggles, who has a favorite installment of Band of Brothers? I've read all of the books associated with the movie, Forest Guth's probably being the best. It was interesting that Winters maintained that Sobel was still a dick head, and that the scenes depicting Winters with flash backs (shooting the young soldier) was pure made up b.s. He seemed pretty pissed about that and that he didn't regret capping a single one. My favorite scene is of BOB: Blithe: (I hid in the ditch) "Because I was scared." Spiers: "We're all scared. You hid in that ditch because you think there's still hope. But Blithe, the only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier's supposed to function. Without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends on it."
I saw post #120 and assumed it was open season. Mea culpa. BTW, Dick Winters is the most badass motherfucker that I know of..........RIP.
