Hot Bodies SV mounting

OK I just got the front end wrecked stuff of the SV and am preparing to fit the Hot Bodies. I have a GP TEch Faring bracket and I don't see a mounting point for the upper to the frame. I thought is was the engine mount bolts but the distance is too long for that. I don't know if I am mixing and matching or if I need to make additional brackets to mount everything.

Pictures would be better. I'd like to get something going this weekend so I am in need of assistance ASAP.

I do have other stuff to do but mounting the upper is the focal point I need to mount the dash, lower, steering damper and other things.

    Any help will be appreciated.

e-mail [email protected] in case any of you helpful gentlemnen have some pics you want to send over.

    Thanks,
    Gene

Gene, You should have told me, I have brackets in stock. Not sure where the Hot Bodies have there mounts. Get some 1/4"6061-T6 1" wide stock, measure from the closest engine mount to the body mount, and have at it.Use a torch and vise, with a 8mm bolt behind it to make your bends.

Thanks Gary, so that's how it's done. No problem on the aluminun bending and such, I still have a bracket from the sharkskinz. The other one got broken on Bostrom corner.

I still need some help though, Gary only cleared up one small aspect of the installation. I'd be really interested in knowing where to locate the best mounting points and such. I really only want to do this one time....really.

I wonder if Hot Bodies has a website with more information. I've did a couple of searches but keep getting a porn site instead of bodywork. Go figure.

    Thanks

I really does not matter where you mount it to.You just want to find the closest point to your body tabs.On the 02 with the gsxr600 body, I use the rear most upper engine mount, on both sides. This is where Cheetah mounts work. With the new gsxr1000 body, I use the front mounts by the overflow bottle.

Doesn't look like either one will line up properly. I even removed the fairing stay. It does read, 99-02 SV650 so I guess it is the correct one. I found some stuff on the hotbodiesracing.com website.

I got board and painted the tank, fender and tail section. I'm waiting for it to dry now. Kinda late but that's me. :)

    Cheers,

'03 bodywork IS different than '02 and down
Could not tell you about the fairing bracket but I would say that is different too.
