This place always has the answers, and there are many here who've gone through this & other surgeries. My question is this: pops is 71, decent shape for his age, active, thin, smokes 1 pack a day. He had laproscopic inguinal hernia surgery Tuesday afternoon, and his recovery is going well, I think, but there are 2 issues I'd like yall's input on. 1. His throat is tender & red. My guess is that is from the intubation. Is that likely it? 2. His legs from the calf down are swelling. They got pretty big last night, so he lay down with a couple blankets and pillows under them, that helped, but they're still a bit swollen. Should he continue the elevation & rest, or should we do even more walking than he has been? Thanks
