head gasket identification???

Is there any way to (externally) tell if a GSXR motor has a Yosh or other aftermarket headgasket installed?

 

Some of the factory "race kit" head gaskets have two instead of three layers.
Cometic MLS gaskets have a more glossy coating than OEM gaskets as well.
Both oddities would be hard to spot from a distance....

 

does the yoshimura head gasket have the same little tabs (with numbers stamped on them) sticking out the back side of the head.... like the stock ones do?

 

so.... knowone knows how to tell the difference between a stock and yosh headgasket after it is installed?

 

how about you stop beating around the bush and tell us what your trying to find out! did someone tell you they installed a gasket and your questioning it or what?

 

yup... that is exactly what I am trying to figure out.

 

Measure it...... it should be .45 thick.
