White Zombie - Black Sunshine This song always makes me want to drive fast. Even when I'm already driving fast! :d
So there's this guy who races dirt Late Models they call Black Sunshine who's been pretty successful over the years. Then there's also a Fuel Altered called Black Sunshine, hope they're not Nazis. (w/a head gasket pushed out)
That's because it's an awful song by a now awful band. Jesus, some of these suggestions. I'm 41, but have never felt younger reading some of the shit in this thread.
It's because new music doesn't talk about cars. Pop culture doesn't have the fascination with them like they did in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and to a lesser extent 80's.
I think this generation of musicians is mostly on downers and similar shit, which is less likely to get you moving and into cars and stuff, as opposed to the '70 and '80 when musicians where on cocaïne and speed. That's my analysis of why a lot of today's music sucks so much.
502 - Megadeth What about airplanes? Bomber - Motorhead Aces High - Iron Maiden Trains? Riding with the Driver - Motorhead Old '97 - Hank III (cover of a Johnny Cash song)
In all seriousness, I saw this, and thought "this is perfect" - it was like that rare moment when you just "know" you're about to be Rick-rolled, and you think, "I'm okay with this..."
Cash's version was also a cover. The song has a long and somewhat convoluted provenance ( and based on a real event).
