Bought the sport chock, I was expecting a nice product but stood for about 5 seconds amazed on how easy it was to push in with the stability. Two thumbs up.
You still use straps, you just don't have to tie them down so hard. I run some straps to my footpegs and take off.
If its bolted or secured to the trailer/truck floor and the finger lock secured... a bike aint coming out unless you flip the truck/trailer. I know this first hand.
I just put mine in the chock and then put a rear stand on the Bike It works great I still put strap on the bars just incase I flip or something the bike wont go flying.
I LOVE my Baxley. It is built like a TANK! Great design idea and beautifully executed! I would NEVER buy another brand. I don't like supporting companies that steal/copy other peoples hard work.
I've used mine dozens of times to hold the dirtbike back tire. Back it into the chock, strap from the pegs toward the chock (holding it in) and drive away. The Baxley sport chock I've got grabs the fatter, 18" rear better than the skinnier, 21" front.
your part of so cal must have some smooth roads lol. that wouldn't work very well over here on the east coast
I know a fellow WERA racer that transported his bike (with a Baxley) 7hrs home from VIR without strapping his bike down. Yes, he forgot to strap it down. Yes, his bike had yellow plates at the time. Yes, he is a Penn State graduate professional engineer. No damage! The bike didn't move.
They make a different chock (called the LA chock), that is adjustable for different wheel and tire sizes.
