Generator help.....

    Hey guys need some help figuring out which generator we need. Things to be powered.

    3 to 4 Utilitech 24" High-Velocity Drum Fan

    4 Sets of Standard Chicken Hawk Warmers

    1 Porter Cable 6 gal. Pancake Air Compressor

    1 CARRIER AIR V - 15,000 BTU A/C

    But I don't want a loud ass generator that's going to piss everyone off in the pits.

    look into the trailer mounted ones imho - that's a lot of juice

    I could be a bit off here, but probably not too far.
    4400 for the CHs.
    3600+ for start up on the AC (1800 running watts x 2 is usually a good guess)
    3000-4000 for the compressor on start up?

    Yamaha makes a 12000W that should do the trick but at 77dB it isn't quiet. If you really want quiet you might be looking at two generators and a lot of $.

    What about getting an RV one and mounting it between the frame rails. The ones for RV's are usually quite right?

    that would be the type I was referring to - usually quieter and larger capacity

    Onan, 6kw or larger. Water cooled diesel is big pimpin and super quiet.

    I wonder if anyone makes a kit to add one of those in the back of the truck bed and hook it into the tank of the truck. That would be sweet

    I think that would actually cost more at that point.
