Fzr400 Lower head bearing race

    So i vaguely remember discussion somewhere about loose fitting lower head bearing races. Anyone have intel on this?

    Loose steering stem, hard braking, stoppies.

    Ok guess next question is there a fix? Is this an issue?

    A hard crash will do that too. Been there, done that.

    Yeah, and hard impact to the front end. I've heard of slivers of beer can being used to fill the gap.

    Is there a fix? Is it even an issue? Not sure first ive ever seen this

    Shim stock. .002 and move up from there.

    It was common on 88/89 models, its why the factory braced the 90 model.
