The fuel filter on my 09 ZX6R is fairly dirty, looking at the service manual and exploded views for OEM retailers, Kawasaki suggests replacing the entire pump, they dont sell just the filter. There are filters on ebay, anyone has any experiences with them? Im concern they might be garbage and will dissolve inside the gas tank.
I’ve been using the ones off eBay for a while now. I buy a few at a time and replace mid season as well. They work just fine. Also I did away with the hoses on my fuel jugs. Now everything goes “through” a funnel with a screen in it.
Doing some internet searching and it looks like it is the same pump as a GSXR for which they do sell OEM replacement filters. Might go that route
Same filter anyway. Not sure on the pump. For $10 a filter you can’t go wrong. It’s now part of my preventative maintenance program.
Can you confirm this fits the 09+ ZX6R? It doesnt say it does here https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/detail/kawasaki/49019-0013/b3094022
It doesn't say it because the Kawasaki manual instructs to replace the whole fuel pump. This is from their off road parts that use the same or similar fuel pump.
Perfect. Just ordered one. You guys always come through, thanks! Btw, this is what mine looked. If I had to guess i would say it was never replaced.
I agree. I am glad I went in there per a friends suggestion. This is the first time I replace a fuel filter in any of my bikes
