i have an 08 sv650 with clip ons. i ordered the OptimalRacing.com upper and lower ducati 1098 race fairings. they told me some peeps have been installing this on SV's. Has anyone done this successfully? if so what fairing stay would i need and what cutting, mounting, etc needs to be done?

    thanks

With enough trimming and creative bracketry you can fit ANY bodywork on any bike. I had 749/999 stuff on my SV, wasn't a ton of work.

Anything is possible. With lots of brackets made it will fit.

    Pictures... Take lots of pictures...

Those 1098 fairings woud look sweet!!!

I think an aftermarket SV fairing can be easily modified to work...

I also like these bodywork on the SV... I do not know whose bike this is but it looks sweet and sleek!!! I do know Hotbodies sells it...

Pretty sure thats like RS 125 bodywork, with some Drippenwet stickers on there too.

BiZ a matter of weight ratios

That's my old SV. I wish I had that bike back... Tyga RSW250 bodywork imported from timbuktu, GSXR tail. SV and big "S" decals off ebay, all others courtesy of WERA sticker box at tech.

RC51 bodywork is a popular choice for an SV.

What year GSXR is the tail from? That looks sweet and fits really well with the rest of the bike

Will the 2nd gen SV bodywork from Optimal work on a 1st gen without too much work?

Very interested to see this done. I'm possibly getting an SV as a second bike to my 848, and could potentially get the same bodywork on them. This would allow me to sneak the 848 into the LWT class :D

Yeah that was the bike I started racing on. I threw it down too many times that year and then it went to live the life of a national championship endurance bike.

Does anybody have any photos of the 1098 bodywork mounted to their SV?

I should have some more photos up in a week or so. This is Optimal 1198 stuff I think. ( I have couple of buddies doing the install/fabrication.) I dont have the skills. And I will have a non-dented tank as well......
