I get weird looks at McDonald's when I ask for grape jelly with my sausage egg and cheese biscuit. My wife still can't watch me eat it and yesterday was our 16th anniversary. I've not been told that I stink....
Oh, God, that reminds me of an old Lazlo Toth letter where he's bitching about McDs not giving him jelly for his cheeseburger. It's a deep dive, but worth it. Anyone else remember Toth?
I've never eaten a corn dog before. For some reason the thought of a corn dog just gives me visions of carnies.....immediately off putting.
Fair enough, but the site explaining what it was did have these squiggly little shapes that are apparently letters, forming words, shaped into sentences describing the 'object'. From past experience with bad sausages and fried cornmeal (and grape jelly), my taste buds objected!
We call em Pogos up here. I usually get one every Sunday on the way to Ball, and dip it in the leftover cheese/gravy/ketchup leftover sauce from my poutine, then chase it with a few beers. Never would have thought about grape jelly. Might try it now. Sometimes I put jam on pierogi and it's pretty good. I like combining odd flavour combos sometimes.
Never done it... but ya know... sweet & salty go together, so damnit if I'm not gonna try it at some point!!!
