Let me see if I can figure this out. A post with the topic, "Chuck Warren.....Help" turns into a discussion about pornography. I don't know if I should be honored or horrified although the idea of Sean posing in his underwear for the umbrella girls is going to give me nightmares. If there are any other topics that I can help with just let me know.

JU my .02 worth is that i don't approve. why? some people might ask. its just like the WWF my young boys (ages 9 and 10) used to love watching that. i think its the dumbest sh*% i have ever seen. so anyway i decided to sit down with them one night and watch it with them. you know that "family quality time." i could not believe what i was seeing. the cussing and talking about the ho's and all that kind of talk let alone how they dress. WWF was originally started for the kids not anymore. my boys love to look thru your mag and as the adervertising has been up to this time i approve. the pics of the chics are all ok just as long as we don't go with a little "T & A" they can continue to look at your mag and enjoy. and a question for you do you know what you tell your 9 year old when he asks what they mean when they say "ho?"

 

I wish I had that problem. When CU was about age 5 the neighbor banned her kids from playing with him because his favorite word was "motherf--ker", and then Trudy was mad at me and said it was my fault!

Tell 'em it means "horrific," as in, a badly behaving person. It's kind of true, and if we can lie to kids about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, what the heck...

LOL This is even funnier because I only recently saw Jim Carrey's "Me, Myself and Irene." Was CU also raised by the likes of Richard Prior, Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock? With your crazy work schedule, it's not that much of a stretch...

 

JU, my two cents. Keep the magazine as it is, a great source of roadracing information not a T&A show. I figure you could probably make more advertising dollars allowing more skin, like the Brit magazines, but then I'd have ask my 15 year old son where he put the magazine each day. As it is now he doesn't have an interest in roadracing (I guess it's not cool if your Dad does it) so he's only interest would be in the more explicit Fastdates type ads.

I know this is a double standard but I have a 9 year old daughter and I admit that I do treat her differently than my son. If there was a picture of two naked girls in a bathtub on the side of a bike or race trailer, I very much doubt I'd take her to another race weekend. Plus my wife would probably get very suspicious if we had a lot of T&A type advertising at the track along with all the time I spend away from home. Let's keep the bike stuff just bike stuff. If you want the T&A subscribe to Penthouse, etc or go to a local strip bar after the race day is over. Let's keep the racing weekends a family type event for all ages.

Just a thought, I wonder if the Brit mags got all those votes on the ESportbike poll last week because of their great bike articles or the topless gal pictures?!

 

The way I see, if you don't like it, don't buy it. If there's no demand, the company won't be in business long enough to matter.

Our society is pervaded with images of sex. Sex in advertising, movies, TV shows,... Having it in RRW isn't going to change anything.

Personally, I have an appreciation of the female form (esp. in bikini clad or less )

 

Understanble, given that you live in a place where winter lasts 9 months. You probably don't get to see too many bikinis...

Hey Ju. Yeah that fella lives with me and he has a real cool spot in that magazine this month. What's in store for the next issue?

 

Special Acree issue. Packed with photos of Acree defeating all at the GNF, with a few irate crew guys in the background, smoke coming out of their ears.

Plus some dyno runs and stuff like that, a couple things about bikes, a few pictures of dudes riding bikes, some new bikes, some kids, and three flying snowballs.

Not that I would know. I just read about it in a magazine.
