Curtis Lamay fire bombed Tokyo and killed 100,000 civilians...war crime? Not in my book. There will always be civilian casualties in a war. especially one where the warriors hide among the civvies. Sorry about that. Victory is the one statistic that counts.

Sounds like they should be burning the Iraqi flag.

Maybe the point of the poster is that killing civilians won't bring 'victory'. More likely it will delay it by quite a few generations....

If they are going to move women and children in as human shields or props for a propaganda war as the article suggests the responsibility for those deaths is on them. The only way to defeat tactics like that is to show them that those tactics do not work. I doubt that anyone woke up and deliberately went out to kill children...

This has been going on a looooong time.

I remember making cookies and sending cards to soldiers in Iraq in grade school.

Never said who was right or wrong and I won't.

But you can't expect people to blame the Iraqi government or the insurgents, when it's our flag carrying out the acts. People don't think that far.

If someone bombed my kid, I would spend my dying breath trying to get revenge against the person who pushed the button. It's not about tugging heart-strings at all - it's how people react. And you aren't stupid. You know that's how they react.

We do a better job of avoiding civilian deaths than ever. Often at substantial risk to our troops. The Islamists intentionally target civilians and use them as cover. Add in that faked propaganda pictures have been created in the past.

And for the final nail in the coffin of this crap consider previous wars and their duration vs the current one.

Not disputing that. It's just the nature of the conflict.

    FTFY.

Civilian deaths are unavoidable, and the blowback from them is as well.

And thus why war is perpetual.

Thing is, for one group, the target are the civilians.

And they're managing to kill way more muslims than non-muslims (I was going to say christians). You'd think that particularity would do much for getting rid of the former morons if another tact was used.

War is a waste of everything (cept maybe Raytheon). It means that the only solution to a problem is that one side has to die. When I Monday morning these wars, most are some dip shit's pipe dream. Once started, the only thing good is to find a truce or bring about the end quickly. If we have the balls to enter a conflict, then we must have the balls to wage total war to its quick end...but unfortunately, ball size to enter a conflict is much smaller than those required to finish it.

I can see the OP's point. "We" are going to be at war with jihadi Muslims for a very long time.

This whole topic can easily be compared to the chicken and egg analogy...........the Muslim conflict against the Jewish State has been going on forever. And now they've moved onto bigger and badder projects.....us.
I have a hard time feeling emotion for civilian deaths in the Middle East when their worst strain of Islam continues to wreak hell on the rest of the world. You wanna end these senseless wars?
Either patrol/control your own people OR work with other countries who can ..... otherwise this BS will continue. The whole Muslim cause reminds me of an out of control kid who will kick and scream til they get THEIR way, it's BS.....

You may very well be right. For the last 15 years we've been fighting a new kind of enemy. These are people that have been fighting someone, even their own countrymen, for thousands of years and they only know violence as the answer to the threats and slights against them. We will be fighting these people's children's children.
