There were some good shots of planes flying over DC last evening. First time I ever saw a B-29 in the air. Had to laugh when the announcer pre-empted all the nay sayers by talking about how much it didn't cost.
Vague recollection of reading somewhere that the B29 program in total cost more than the Manhattan Project. Apples to oranges of course, but the A-bomb is usually thought of as the original win it or bin it military project.
Speaking of planes. I just watched a plane crash in front of me in Sedona. I went hiking this morning then went to Walgreens. Im getting ready to pull out othe parking lot and go to Starbucks. I look left, i look right and HOLY FUCK!! Thats a plane like 20 feet off the road. Belly landing, sparks, skids to a stop. I park on the sidewalk, grabing the fire extinguisher and gloves and start running to the plane. Old dude pops the door open and sort of casually walks out. A lot of cars stopping and people running over. This happened maybe an hour ago. Fucking crazy!!

I was wondering if it might be Kermit Weeks as he has property in Sedona and is out there a lot, but he wouldn't be caught dead in something that pedestrian..
Looks like a Beechcraft Musketeer. One less of those as they will probably write this one off. Glad they got out OK.
