As the title says, best fuel. what is your opinion on this. VP, other brand. There are so many different mixes of race fuel's so what do you use and why. Also where do you get it and how much do you pay for it. As much info as possable please.
VP is the best fuel manufacture....as for which fuel is best depends on what you are using it for and what you are using it in.
What kind of bike? State of tune of the bike? Was the motor set up to run on pump gas or something else? You need the .5 HP gain to get the win?
You'd be better off getting mapped for pump gas. Search for all the motor problems the last few season with tainted race gas. Save the money and put it in other places, such as suspension, tracktime, etc.
My bike is an 03 GSXR 600. I bought it from another racer last winter and it is set up for race fuel. I've had pump gas in it but it don't like it to good. Not sure what he was running and I cant find his contact info either.
If it was mine I'd make friends with an R-tech dealer and get the bike set up for R110. Baring that, I'd also look at Sunoco unleaded or even get it set up for pump gas. Nothing wrong with VP and it's available damn near everywhere. Great stuff as long as you don't get a bad can of it.
Get it remapped for pump. There is nothing you're going to do on an 03 GSXR with race gas that you can't do with pump gas.
If it runs good on 110-114, it must have a shitload of compression. Try some C12 before you get it remapped.
I take 93 octane and put it in a VP MRX can in the back of my truck. It rides there for months until I use it in a generator, or a bike. It's good stuff. You will notice the fancy can in the back at every race. It's usually covered by a brown trashcan that is upside down to keep rain from getting in it. I may need another 15gal can for this year.
