I know someone that wants to start doing some track riding. Are the leathers at the link below satisfactory from a safety point of view or... ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/250904753409
Dunno........they have no name on them. Kind of hard to give a review of a product that has no company associated with it. Good enough for me? Hello no. But I don't know, maybe your friend has low enough self-esteem
I have some cheap ones that I imported from Pakistan that are ok for mini racing. I have crash tested them a couple of times. But I don't think I would go to a big track on a big bike without a known brand. The question is how much is your skin worth to you?
How bad do you want to avoid skin grafts? Seriously, check these measurments Chest: 38’’ Waist: 36’’ Jacket length: 25’’ Inseam: 27’’ Chest 38, waist 36, that's only a 2" drop.
36" waist & 38" chest Whaaaa You'd have to wear a waist protector to fill in the gap. Weird f'n sizing.
What's with all the waist, chest size talk...trying to get the op to give their waist, chest, hip measurements:wow:
Try looking for some Teknic Chicanes 1 or 2 piece suits. I raced for many years with 2 piece suits. Wasn't till I got a nice IRS refund that I stepped up to a Alpinestar 1 piece.
Tell your "friend" I can get him in a name brand suit for $500 shipped. Dont take chances with your flesh. Most of us wear gloves that cost more than the suit you posted.
I'm going to agree with everyone else. Between the odd sizing (could be a typo) and pictures aren't close enough to show stitching (likely single) I would tend to say don't do it. It may be 'cheap' but that's about the same price I paid for my first full suit of name brand leathers used. Keep looking!
While I might settle for 'good enough' at closing time on Friday night, I never settled for it on the Sunday grid.
No. If you buy them and so much as scratch your ass while wearing them you will burst into flames and die! Want to burst into flames and die? Wear them.
