Whats up all, Just seeing if anyone else has a battery issue with their 2006 Gsxr 600. When I purchased the bike battery was dead, charged it up and used for 2-3 months no incident. Then one race weekend bike was dead again, thankfully guy next to me had a jump pack, had to use be4 every race. Purchased a new battery, didnt install till the following race weekend. Started up fine all wkend. Went home didnt take the battery out sat for a week. Went to start up, brand new battery dead. My buddy had a similar problem with his bike (same exact yr/model) but not as bad. Anyone else having this issue?

Sounds like you need to check for a draw.

I do know that GSXR600's have stator issues but don't know what years are effected. My buddy works at a dealer & says they have a high failuer rate. Check the output & the draw as well as a battery load test.

check the voltage at ever checkpont. Then you can weed out were you are losing it.

Did you charge the new battery before you installed it. Fully charge it put it back in crank it and put a volt meter across the terminals. You should be getting 13.5 or so at idle and 14+ when rev'ed up. I don't see how it could be a drain since you said you pulled the battery out between weekends. Right?

Bad battery maintance HE didn't charge it when new, he let it set for quite a while, prolly on concrete and lets the bike sit with no battery tender... you're going to kill the cell's constantly... buy a battery tender and use it... you wont have this issue anymore there is nothing worse than letting a battery sit and not be in use... it will die just sitting there, then if it doesn't get recharged in due time (This doesn't take long) it will kill the cells one by one then you have a trashed battery...

Battery Tender is an great idea. I have several and I am a dealer for them. I takes a bit of time for the battery to go dead and sulfate from none use. I have several bikes that sit for months at a time without issue so you might have to dig a bit deeper to find your problem if it is going dead within a few weeks time. On average I think a battery discharges 1% per day.

I purchased the battery threw it in the bike used it one weekend, left it in it was dead the following wkend. I just put it on the tender off the bike and will see what happens.

If it didnt come fully charged and all they did was fill it then its possible for it to have cranked the bike ok for the weekend then be dead. If everything is ok on the bike you should be good to go by charging it up.

I'm having the same issues with 06 GSXR 600. The battery died after about two weeks sitting in the garage. Bought a brand new battery and had the bike on the battery tender and took out today and the bike died AGAIN.... I'm really frustrated as well. HELP!!
