HVAC here, I did that many a year until I just got disgusted. Sooner or later the money ain't worth it. I would pay other mechanics to take some of my on call work. I worked many 100 hour work weeks and got burned out on it. Worked so much i had a few paychecks sitting on my dresser and the company called me and told me deposit them. Just didnt have time to hit the bank.

One year i even did night shift 3-midnight and then on call midnight till 5am 5 days a week all winter. and then took other mechanics saturdays and sundays on call time. Was great $$ but ya get burned out.
