This VFR was found at a yard sale two years ago, in Western Michigan and now resides at the family farm in Wheatfield, Indiana. What have you been using to plant your crops? Planters are International Harvester parts and the seat is a Farmall unit. It’s on its second season of use for planting sweet corn and plants two rows at a time. It's actually well put together and was a steal at $500.
Just asked the boss the same thing. Plan on planting a couple acres of sweet corn next year and this looks perfect.
No. No, man. Shit, no, man. I believe you'd get your ass kicked sayin' something like that, man. Someone needs to get their ass kicked for building that thing.
Old horses need to earn their keep..... I love it. Need to do something like that with my old F3, Plonda lol.
Hmm. I wouldn't think it had the tq to push through a furrow. Seems more likely to plant it's front end and choke.
Dave Dave Dave, I understand your point, but dont misinterpret mine...... I build stuff for a living. We design a machine from an idea in someones head, then make it out of steel, alum, whatever...... I'm a honda guy, and own a VFR....but for someone to be standing in a field, planting things by hand (or whatever), then think about that old bike they have in the barn.....THEN PHYSICALLY COMBINE THEM.....AND it works....I'm gonna call that cool man, sorry! Honestly, if it was a Harley I'd think it was faked.
He said it actually works pretty well. If you look at the size of the pie plate rear sprocket it makes up for any lack of torque.
Looks like it is geared down 2x with fairly large sprockets, don't think power would be an issue. I think it's pretty darn cool. Could use a shank to take out the front tire track though...
Not the most in-focus pic, but here is a shot from the back. I do have the say the exhaust flappers make me chuckle.
What’s driving the seed units? Thought I saw a small sprocket but no chain??? Also, the SMV sign should come standard on all Honda’s.
