I've just been looking at the 2003 rules, can someone explain what this means: "250 GP Pre-1969 2 stroke piston port singles up to 250cc Pre-1969 2 stroke single, piston port, reed valve, rotary valve" I was under the impression that only piston port two strokes were being allowd.
robin, looks kind of like a typo, bridgestones have always been allowed which are rotary valve. ducatis still rule the class with an occassional honda, aeramachi(sp.) and bultaco. i cant think of a bike reed or rotary that would be a class bully though. do you ride a duc? which tracks do you go to? i did some 250gp this year and had a blast.
Robin172: This is my understanding of the new rule based on the 2002 rules which reads as follows: 250 GP Pre-1969 2 stroke singles and twins up to 200cc Pre-1969 4 stroke singles and twins up to 250cc Approved - (New rule for 2003) Allow - single cylinder, piston port 250cc two strokes, into 250GP -w/ same year cut-off date. The Bridgestone and etc. falls under the original rule.
Robin172 - thanks for pointing that out. I'll find out what was intended and make the appropriate corrections. -Jens
WERA33 Yes I ride a Ducati, last year was my first season with WERA. I did the 3 Putnam races, well, two actually after dumping it in practice at the first meeting and one of the VIR races. I was due to go to the GNF and try to hang on to the 3rd place in the National rankings that I had somehow managed to rise to but I went down with pneumonia that week. Looking forward to next year.
