Crappy pilot?....pfft, my '04 has been nothing but great....3 rd row, leather, DVD, heated seats, mirrors...It's my daily driver of 80+ miles to and fro work....95 mph and smooth as butter. I paid $1500 for it 4 yrs ago.
I'd take the RX or give it to the wife. keep the pilot and sell the older lexus. Or sell two and get an Alfa.
It’s not very pimp, but it is sporty. I fucking love my mk7 gti. I’ve owned a lot of different cars and driven nearly everything. It’s the first car I’ve ever had that I’d like to keep for a long time. perfect DD. Fits my kids, or most anything I want in the back. Does really whatever you want it to.
If the Vette's too much, there's always the new Supra to consider. I know it's a Z4 under the skin, but I like it better than the Z4.
the MK7 GTI has an interior that basically belongs in an Audi. It's the best platform I've worked on and driven. They take to mods so we'll, but even in stock form are great. It's so good that I've had 3 MQB, 2 GTIs and a R. I would stick with the GTI, it's more than enough with a tune, even though AWD is nice too. coming from a LS430 to a GTI may be a shock, but it fits everything 99.9% of the time. Minivan is the answer OP. ~sent from mobile
Not sure about all of them but the G37/Q60 does not, as a matter of fact you can get a manual but really hard to find. We picked up a used 2015 Q60S (the last year before all the turbo crap). That 3.7L motor is a hoot, we got the 7sp auto with paddle shifters and its way more fun than I thought it would be (auto blip makes it even funner). For the money I don't think we could of done much better, for less than 1/2 price of new msrp and only 29K on it. Besides the early gasket issues (before '12), they have a pretty good rep on reliability.
Did I miss where RD decided to up his budget from $15K to whatever idiotic number a new Supra goes for? I thought I was stretching it with a used Vette (amazing what you can get for $25K)
True, I believe the VSC and TC are disabled when the emissions lights come on because the TC cuts power with ignition cuts and they are disabled because the cat can be damaged by the extra fuel.
I have a 12 g37. Best car I've ever owned. Zero repairs or problems. 325hp and 29mpg hwy. If they still made them I'd buy another
I’m thinking about doing a stage 1 tune on mine when the warranty runs out in 6k miles. Good idea? It has the performance pack so should be making 230 or more... I just don’t want to blow it up. 300hp sounds nice... if there was a nice mk7 R I’d maybe upgrade but I’m really happy with mine. 17 sport so has upgraded brakes, lsd and power upgrade and none of the electronic nannies I loath.
What about the Hyundai Genesis? Either the coupe or the sedan. I have read good write ups comparing to the G37.
