I always enjoy the concept of 'killing with kindness'... Good job! US Navy rescues Iranians held hostage by pirates http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-16447862
You can bet that the pirates really really wanted to stay with the Americans rather than be turned over to the Iranians....
Don't they still have one of our "hikers" and a drone? Shoulda seen how bad they wanted their 15 fishermen back.....
I think you're naïve if you think they would even offer you five goats for 15 civilians who don't have a PhD in nuclear physics.
It's already been on all of the Al Jezerra networks.... http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2012/01/20121619222856166.html
Yes, but there was an excellent article in the Economist last year about the extensive number of (dis-approved) satellite dishes throughout Iran... Evidently they tend to enjoy the Islamic soaps and variety shows as much as anyone... especially when they are bored and hungry throughout Ramadan...
I wasn't implying that some people don't get that channel with satellite dishes in Iran. I'm just guessing that the masses probably only get to enjoy state television, and I'm speculating that the rescue probably won't be the big story on that.
It appears that Iran has indeed officially acknowledged the US rescue, although they did downplay it: 'Iran describes US Navy rescue as 'humanitarian' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-16455164
