Adapting Galespeed wheels to work on different bikes

Anyone know if there is a way to adapt aftermarket forged wheels to work on different bikes? I have a 2001 GSXR 1000 with Galespeed wheels and was wondering if there was a way to fit these on a 2000 R6. It looks like most of the aftermarket brands make the rims fairly universal then just install the bearings, spacers, cush drive and brake rotor brackets for the specific bike. Or am I way off here?
