A new twist on the Twinkie Defense

No, this has nothing to do with Mayor Moscone's murder.

It's an interesting read on the woulda-coulda-shoulda of what protectionism, unions and tariffs can affect.

 

I saw their bread being sold in a Publix in Daytona Beach.
They want us to know that it's pronounced "Beembo".

 

BTW, I checked this out on Snopes last year. Dan White's defense team said that one of the manifestations of his state of mind was that he was eating junk food like Twinkies, etc. Somehow the press distorted the story to the Twinkies causing him to descend to that state of mind which led him to murder the Mayor.

 

Growing up in Fort Worth, we had a local bakery called Mrs. Baird's. Driving into downtown we always passed the bakery and it smelled absolutely wonderful!

A few years back, they were bought out by Bimbo. They are still using the Mrs. Baird's name, making Mrs. Baird a Bimbo...
