I agree, 50 shots is way too many. Should have been able to get the job done with no more than a dozen or so. They need to get in some extra range time. :up:

THe guy tired to run over a cop....he then ran into a car full of cops twice. A car is a deadly weapon....correct proportional force would be to respond with a deadly weapon. Who cares how many shots were fired.

It's unfortunate this young man lost his life so needlessly. Where I grew up (houston) the cops always shot first asked questions later, gun or no gun.

I'm trying to understand here. If the police had only fired 3 rounds and extinguished the little fires of all three men with said rounds that would be appropriate force? Is it the amount of shots fired or that shots were fired at all? Sounds to me like they are all in a tizzy because of the 50 shots. Now if 50 cops are there and each shoots 1 round is that ok.

Bottom line the police obviously felt the need to fire. I could give a shit how many rounds were fired because when your in that situation your really not concerened with counting rounds other than the need to know where the bottom of the clip is at. I am not very impressed with the amount fired tho that just means the guys need some more time at the range. (that is if there was less than 50 cops there)

Hold on a second. I don't think there is quite enough hearsay just yet to leap to a conclusion.

- all the cops were out of uniform.
- Commissioner Kelly said he doesn't know if any identified themselves.
- The car hit the unmarked minivan only once as it left.
- Kelly described one cop as being “rammed” by the car. But he also said that none of them were seriously injured. Does this man sound impartial or what!?!

So at this point all we can be reasonably certain of is that one bunch of guys pulled guns and fired 50 shots at another bunch of (unarmed) guys outside a bar at 4 AM.

 

and that we have one canadian without SHIT on the line offering supposition better than any CNN reporter.
