The bike is fully sorted and reliable. I've owned it since 2010. No mechanical issues – shifts and rides smooth, fast and strong. Comparable in speed to a current 600, but with a bunch more torque. Always a track bike as it was built from leftover race team spares. Located in Dexter, Michigan near Ann Arbor. 2001 Yamaha R1 Never Crashed – 6894 miles Built from a frame blank / unstamped frame - bill of sale only Scott Steering Damper Lithium Battery Vortex Rearsets Steel Braided Brake Lines with brand new Vesrah RJL pads 520 sprocket and chain conversion Yoshimura slip-on (with dent from tip-over) Racetech valved Rear Shock Racetech valved Front Forks Suspension sprung for 180-200lb rider without gear Frame and Clutch Sliders Track Wiring – No key required Airtech bodywork – some minor cracks from a tip-over, and other wear and tear. Ugly but functional. Very ugly. Windscreen is fogged in the lower area, but was not an issue for me. Carbs cleaned and rebuilt in April. Newer clutch. Stock Engine – Mobil 1 10W-40 / Engine Ice Front dunlop slick with life and I have an extra rear dunlop slick tire with life to go with the bike. The rear that is on the bike is done. Extras Service Manuals Extra sprockets Spare foot pegs Spare wiring from a 99 including coils, fuel pump, rectifier, etc. Cheap LP rear stand (not the one in the picture) Other odds and ends I have laying around as well. Very cool bike at a great price, especially with all the extras. The distance is a killer, but otherwise a definite bargain.
