What's the major difference (if any) in this bike and say a newer TZ??

different is in the 4tw vs. 5ke. main different is motor, the newer 5ke went to a square bore/stroke 54x54, where as the 4tw has a larger bore(56mm) smaller stroke, In theory the 5ke makes more tq#(39ishlb/ft by yamaha press numbers), but with the many mods I made the different is minor(38.5 dyno run) at this point, also the 5ke cases have casted insets for the main bearing bolts, these weaken with just a very few rebuilds and the cases need to be replaced($2400ish) or modified also in the later 5ke 03+(i think) they attacked the radial mount brakes, mine has the same forks just standard mounting, you can how ever just order the 5ke lower fork tube and update to the newer brakes if you wanted as the internal and rest of the forks are the same,
