What teams raced the 1989 GSXR750RK (worldwide)?

The 750cc tariff ended in 1988.

Who raced it? I think there was a German Suzuki team in WSBK in '89 or 90. Probably them. I remember Polen doing some WSBK for Yosh Japan around that time.

Really, I wouldn't doubt there was a few racing in the US. Jamie James was ama champ in '89 on a Suzuki.

    Dave,

    thanks.

I’m looking for any direction on teams worldwide. I’ve found a few pics of the Yosh Sietto RR Polen and Schwantz raced at Suzuka, and also some info on Polen’s WSBK ride.

This Next Gen project is a little bit of a RR/RK knock off and I’m kicking around a race team livery given ARHMA’s expectations- I thought maybe a cool Deutsche or UK team that ran the RR in ‘89.

Suzuki Deutschland ran a pretty basic red and black paint scheme from what I can remember.

Edit: Along these lines. This is NOT one of their bikes and this looks to be an '86 1100 but for some reason this is what I remember their bikes being painted up like:

  6. None of them. Motorcycles didn’t exist way back then.

Man, I was trying to remember cool painted GSXR from 89 or 90. The Skoal Bandit paint was from 85 through maybe 88 and GSXRs shouldn't be green. All I could think of was the Yosh USA bikes, Yosh Japan (black and red) sietto GP-1, Big Papa and the Suzuka 8hr lucky strike (1990).

What if he went with paint scheme of one of the Turbo/Nitrous 1100 monsters from back in the day?

Except the one "chick" is. um, how do I put this? In the words of south park - "how come a transvestite donkey witch is sitting on a GSXR and wearing spandex?"

Dave, I think we have a winner. A variant of this scheme. Thanks for the input.

That one looks nice. The green one and the RWB one are ugly.

I agree, the green is pretty bad - However apparently that is a restoration of one Pops Yoshimura and Company built. It went for insane money to a collector in Japan.

The Vance & Hines GSXR-750 Sadowski rode in 89 had a nice paint scheme. Cant seem to locate a pic of it though.
