For the past couple of weeks I have had trouble logging into sites that is run by this server, ie WERA and Roadracing World. Anybody else have these problems? Usually I will restart my computer and then they will load. Is it me or what?

    Hey Tracee,

What ISP and browser are you using?

We have had to switch some IPs around here over the last couple weeks. Sometimes your ISP and/or your broswer will cache IPs despite the fact that the TTLs have expired.

That is the most likely explanation.

However, we have not switched IPs enough so that you would be experiencing that 20% of the time.

Next time it happens, and without rebooting, see if you can ping wera.com and venus.13x.com If you can ping them, but you cannot see them with your browser, then I think your ISP is playing games with proxy servers or, more likely, your browser is not acting the way you want it to.

A little over my head but I'll try to answer. Not sure of the ISP, it's the one we use at work. Browser is easy, Explorer.

Ping? not sure what you mean, I'm a computer dummy.

ping is a sonar reference. It allows you to bounce a packet off another server on a network to determine if you can see it.

Type ping venus.13x.com or ping wera.com at a command line.

To get to a command line in win2K

    start / run/ cmd

    older versions of winblows

    start / run / command
