06 gsxr 1000 w/ r6 throttle tube?

Been looking for a quick turn throttle for my 06 gsxr 1000....I had a Guy tell me just to get a 04 r6 throttle tube! Is this correct and do I need anything else? And modifications to make this work? Thanks in advance!

 

I have this on my 07 gsxr600 and the diameter of the r6 part is smaller(faster) than the stock part

 

i think the diameter is bigger that way u have to turn it less. i have an r6 throttle tube on my gsxr1000 and love it!!

 

04 R1 is 1/4 turn, IIRC, R6 is 1/5 turn IIRC, although the newer R6 tubes require some trimming? I've heard.....

I stick with the R1 tubes, never ran an R6 tube

 

yes, sorry,the r6 part is bigger. I was thinking about it backwards.


getting the r6 tube into the housing is a tight fit but it goes in without any modifications that i remember

 

The 04-06 R1 is a direct swap for the GSXR 1000 and it's a 1/4 turn!

 

i thought stock GSXR was 1/4, R1 was 1/5 and the R6 was 1/6??

Could be, I couldn't exactly remember the sequence as it's been a while since i've seen it. Either way, the R1/R6 tube is a shorter pull than nay gsxr tube

 

i ran an r1 tube on my 05gsxr1k.. loved it

 

Thats correct. I can't imagine anyone wanting a 1/6 turn throttle on a k6 GSXR 1000 on a roadrace track... I'm using a 1/5 turn R1 throttle on my k6 1K.

 

yeah i just installed an 04 r1 throttle on my k61k... havent tried it yet. looking forward to it

I had an R6 tube on my 600, was 1/6 turn.

Just switched it for a motion pro so see how it goes this weekend...

 

got one on my k4 750, and got a zx6r tube on my k7 1k.

the 6r tube is almost identical to the r6 tube, just a tad smaller. just FYI

 

Diddo here 2006 R6 = 1/6 I did grind some stuff out due to a tight fit. Works great!
