No, the "best of both worlds" is an SV, a TL-R, and a set of three GSXRs. And a sugar momma to pay for it all.
Actually, my "best of all worlds" fantasy bike is a 100hp SV motor in a Tigcraft frame with TZ running gear. Someday.<sigh>
Go with the 750. Leave it SS...you have more races you can run. The 1000 is limited in the number....and it's gonna scare the crap out of ya.
This sounds like a cherry picking question to me so let me advise you on the following: 1000-people hate it or love it. Most hate it. Too heavy. SV-it's time for you to move on to bigger and better Steve. TL-limited classes 750-money paying classes, good for endurance if you add a big tank and easy to get more horsepower out of the 750. I'll ask around to see if there are some for sale around here after October.
Nope, Pete won't be selling his after the 200. It's been a long season of learning (this is not for the easily discouraged) but it is a lot of fun, and I still get a kick out of rolling it on to hyperspeed.
I am selling my 2000 GSXR 750 Mike Cicatto road it to a third place in the GNFlast year. Never crashed. If interested give me a call and make an offer and I'll tell you what all it has.
Just a quick note to consider (not that it seems anyone was actually suggesting this, but maybe more for the people who own them already), I read (I think in MCN News) that Suzuki will be taking the TL 1000S out of their line-up, with thr "R" soon to follow. Spares may become a rarity.
I'm thinking not. Then again....read his reply. Heck...I haven't even wrecked....er....borrowed it yet. )
Note: the TL is eligible for every class as the 750 is PLUS HW Twins. So, the TL has the MOST available classes. It's probably the least competitive though.
