Get back to me when AI porn gets more realistic. My "shortcomings" will no longer impair my adult film career.
The tech is cool but in reality we're a long, long way from general AI. It's fun to play around with dystopian theories but the thing we're afraid of won't happen for a long time, if ever.
Have you seen the non-AI things that people are falling for today, before the generalization of this technology?
In my case it's simply an understanding that humanity is, always has been, and always will be pretty damn stupid.
Humanity is the average intelligence is inversely proportional to the size of the group. Other species learn from mistakes made by other members, humans seem to go out their way to be an outlier or exception. AI was predicted to be a shitshow in most sci fi going back a century. Only a few use AI as a benevolent overseer. Been right about to much science and human interactions to not take notice.
Elon, Microsoft and Open AI are working together and investing 7 Trillion dollars in AI development. AI will replace millions of workers in the not too distant future. It's already started. AI is like the internet was in 1995 but AI will grow in exponential proportions compared to the growth of the internet. I'm actively researching the companies that provide the infrastructure for AI to invest in. If I had kids I would be pushing them into either medical or a trade skill if they want a secure job. Mark my words - trade skill schools will see a come back when many other jobs will cease to exist.
In 1903, the New York Times published an estimated timeline of one to ten million years for the development of manned flight. Nine weeks later, the Wright brothers made them look a bit silly. AGI is coming.
Maybe I am wrong, but it's all conjecture because even the geniuses working on LLMs have no idea when actual AGI will birth itself.
Seeing a video of someone work an excavator from an office today was definitely eye opening. They can work multiple cranes in a day at multiple locations. so that puts a kibosh in needing as many people as well
The AI will still need, for a little while longer, source actual aerial footage to butcher...er, enhance.
Also, no copyright on AI generated content so... no protections for whatever you generate or use it in.
