I just picked up a brand new Super duke GT, and after 500 miles the rear shock is leaking fluid.

Dealer inspected it and says it’s blown, no shocks available anywhere, no idea how long I will be waiting.

Is it unreasonable for me to ask them to take one off a floor model?

I have not asked them yet.

    TIA

Get it rebuilt. They should be able to get that covered under warranty.

They said it’s non rebuildable, no parts available, if it blows replace with new unit.

I have no idea if that is true, it is the semi active WP shock.

I doubt a dealer would disable a unit to make you happy.
Just put an aftermarket shock on it and ask the dealer to give it to you for cost and free installation. They can recoup some of the money through warranty and you will end up with a better bike at minimal cost.

    I’m located in Maryland.
Trying to find shock info but I can’t find any microfiche online for my model.

You can ask, but they will probably say no. They might say yes, and if you don't ask they can't.

Back in '05 the starter button on my 05 gsxr broke (still under warranty) and the dealership actually did offer to swap one off of a floor bike but we ended up just waiting for the part to arrive.

Hello customer service? I need a shock for my new bike that I can't ride. If they don't say we can help your dealer asap then you say...

Why would he call Ducati customer service for a KTM issue?

Taking parts off new bikes is a pandora box no dealer wants to open.

Probably not. It is WP shock, think same but newer version of the one I have on my gs1200. They are rebuildable.

You don't need to look for that specific shock. Seals are either O-ring or U-cup. That one is most like U-cup for shaft, only need to know size of it. Assuming leak is on shaft, if somewhere else it is just O-ring.
