Dayum it sure is interesting times. I think the next 20 years will go down in history as one of the pivotal moments in human history. We'll know more about Q* soon enough, but in the meantime, there's some scary stuff out there if you want to do some digging. My take: Problem solving will happen many orders of magnitude quicker than before, which will lead to massive upheaval in most things. Its gonna be hard to be a human very soon.
I've been bowing down to our robot overlords since the i-Phone. Just gimmie my dose of Dopamine! yes I'll buy those Crocs, and tell the world what I'm having for diner with a picture.
I never thought humans would get to the point of photographing their fucking dinner, but alas....here we are.
Embrace the change! I posted the cookies I baked after 10 pm on saturday night on my instagrams story.
Some speculation below. I agree, the advances in AI are very concerning. They’ll either need to be highly regulated, or Cyberpunk 2077 may be the US in the 2040s. https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenAI/s/sYwuLvwiRh
General General forum for discussing racing and life as we know it - unless it's politics or religion... Or not.
Artificial intelligence is neither political nor religious, unless you choose to make it so. It is, however, rather frightening.
Political? That ship has sailed, it's gone comical now. They're still expecting JFK and/or Jr to come back.... But you don't mind the AOC or Pizzagate memes though.
New AWS service. Fun! Time to start taking the courses tomorrow. Q* -- AGI is still model based. I work with large data sets and AI daily. It ain't magic.
I put a video in the Youtube thread of a dude that presents a fairly cogent monologue on AGI and its nodes, with respect to where we are today and how quickly things are changing. Easy to understand, not a doomer.
