OK, I've searched all over, talked to people who attended and cant' find an answer to my MotoAmerica Daytona question: What caused Josh Hayes DNF?

 

Can only find reference to the all encompassing phrase when folks want nobody to know.... "technical issue".

On the TV broadcast, they said it was an electrical issue that they were able to correct and get him back out.

 

I'd heard this also, and thought he'd finished, but results list him as DNF. So now I'm confused also.

 

He may have been running at the end, but didn't complete enough laps to be classified?

Ok this is my last guess: The racer unknowingly got in a fist fight with Bill France, who also resents his huge only fans monthly bill?

That racer made the local news that night and went to jail? And I think the reporter mentioned he was racing in the 200. Or maybe someone in the Itnl office recognized him since he had won it 4 times? Anyway I'm chatting up Kevin Elliott and Phil in the tower the next day and the word comes down, the big cheese says he's a no go at my racetrack this year

I know of two D200 winners who have made the news for exploits away from the speedway, and I would bet money there are more than two, over all the years. It does narrow it down when looking at the time period Kevin and Phil would have been in the tower
