Do any of you have experience with importing a later model race bike? I've reached out to a few brokers, but haven't had a whole lot of luck.
You will likely loose it to fee's, protocol and just time itself **IF** it gets inspected stateside. Trying to explain this away to USCBP, EPA and DOT is useless, even with the correct EPA/DOT paperwork. Busy port like Long Beach has better chances of skating thru vs. slower ports like,, every other one. Personally, I'd part it down a bit and send it LTL in someone else's container as "used racing spare parts" or DHL it in 2-3 boxes. Complete machines (Vehicles) get flagged,,, *parts* never. Plus,, It's too valuable to fuck around and find out... Whatever you pay for the bike, plan to pay the same to ship it. I’ve heard of really expensive stories of getting stuff out of Australia.
I’m going to eventually race one of them. Hopefully sometime in 24’ The one in the first photo is almost too nice to ride, but I need to get it on the track at least once before it goes in the house.
so it took 2 years? im assuming a lot of persistence ! never heard of them but damn, that a nice lookin bike (s). def different!
