First practices aren't the best for guessing how things will end up. And that's what I consider this "2nd" practice. Wait until the third practice.
Better 'glue' to hold the frame in. Most people dont realize how much suction these cars make. They could give Jenny McCarthy is Baseketball a run for her money..
I believe that’s the correct story but that only makes it worse. I’m sure they won’t refund a single penny to them either.
I think they will get money back. Not sure how much, but there will be some accommodation. If there isn't, I'd hate to think of the ways a motivated Marine would use to prevent next years event from happening.
Clearing the stands because (what I assume are) unionized security have their shift ending is one of the worst non-racer death things in this sport right behind tiregate of Indy 2000-whatever. You take fans that paid more than any other event to date, make them wait until 10 pm to watch four laps, then make them sit another couple of hours in 40 degree weather to then tell them that the ticket they bought won't be honored for FP2 and forcefully clear them out. Can't find any of that in the Customer Service 101 handbook.
Just curious, but does F1 run in any other 'unionized' cities? Dealing with unions is unique and if they've never been involved with the good ol' USA unions I can see why this went down. I'm sure this won't happen again next year as they get smarter how they do contracts.
I have no clue Oh heres what they did: Race officials and track engineers have made rapid inspections and repairs to 30 such water valves along the Strip – by filling them in with a mix of asphalt and resin that is hoped will keep them in place sufficiently when the cars are running over them at top speed on such a long straight.
The reaction from the casinos and their workers on the strip has been interesting. Employees complaining of how difficult it's been to commute since they started the setup in April. Casino's offering prizes and bonus money to hourly employees who show up this weekend. It sounds like the working folks aren't excited at all by this and the casino's are desperate to man the decks. Hotel prices are tanking as well. Prices are less than last weekend's rates at some places (Flamingo for certain).
No one that makes more than minimum wage would ever consider staying there. Well, maybe @ChemGuy , assuming The Linc is full.
He was an auto journalist. Said his rate Tuesday was $18.00 for the night. Then Sat night it was $240. Even though it's a dive that's still cheap.
Auto "journalist." Probably some guy with a laptop and writes submits stories to Yahoo Sports. For free.
