Yeah, it started over 20 years ago. I had never heard about it until yesterday. I figured there might be someone else who hasn't either.

 

I remember him asking for something like eleventy bazillion Iraqi dinar for the domain. Back when overlawyered (I think it was then)?was an active website they had an article on it.

motorcyclist magazine had something similar and they lost the lawsuit.

I’m sure if Nissan came out and tried to buy the name and domain first vs coming in guns blazing trying to sue and litigate your company into bankruptcy this would have resolved a long time ago.

I’m of the opinion (or was back in 199whatever) that this dude thought he hit the payday, because so many others did with cyber squatting but he held out for just that much more.
