Yeah, it started over 20 years ago. I had never heard about it until yesterday. I figured there might be someone else who hasn't either.
I remember him asking for something like eleventy bazillion Iraqi dinar for the domain. Back when overlawyered (I think it was then)?was an active website they had an article on it. motorcyclist magazine had something similar and they lost the lawsuit.
What a shit show, talk about dying on the wrong hill. Sell the stupid internet name and get on with your life. For anyone who has ever been involved in protracted court action, they know what I'm talking about
I’m sure if Nissan came out and tried to buy the name and domain first vs coming in guns blazing trying to sue and litigate your company into bankruptcy this would have resolved a long time ago. Fuck Japanese Chrysler!!
maybe take a page right out of @Steeltoe trusty playbook... nissanz4youze really cements the brand!!!
He sounds like a real piece of work, not sure who to believe but I can tell you I would have settled long ago and moved on.
So because he doesn't want to sell his domain that is named after him, he is a bad guy? Why should he be forced to sell?
I’m of the opinion (or was back in 199whatever) that this dude thought he hit the payday, because so many others did with cyber squatting but he held out for just that much more. He’s an idiot, Nissan tried going balls deep before they even tried getting a boner and I stopped caring 30 years ago. F@ck them all!
That's insulting Chrysler. but good on Nissan. F that guy. thought he was super smart, and they didn't buy in to him.
If his last name is Nissan, then it's first-come, first-served. Fuck Nissan. The day I side with the corporate lawyers is not today. Tomorrow doesn't look good either.
