I still find myself kicking the throttle a little to set the choke before starting my 30+ year old fuel injected Chevy G20 van.

I had a '82...I 'd been riding for almost 20 years when I got it....

 

Oh yeah for sure. Turn the key on and let the fuel pump spin up. Give a pump (may be 2?) and hit the starter.

 

you could’ve just stopped there... one of the best most well balanced bikes ever...

I remember in 99 looking at those puny 45mm std forks and tiny triples, when everyone else was inverted and stiff, and thinking wth?!! Now over 20 years later pitching that flimsy, perfect front end into a big corner looking down at the triples twisting in my hands as magic... took them 15 years to give the R1 a proper manager to get it fixed...

 

I love my 99 r6 almost as much as my 400. Only got to race the r6 a couple times but got comfortable with it very quickly. Great bike
