Yuuuge winter storm affecting damn near the whole nation. https://weather.com/storms/winter/n...rm-landon-map-tracker-midwest-south-northeast Looks like I'm taking Thursday & Friday off whether I want to or not.
I hope not, but I'm even more prepared than I was last time. We had 4 days with no power, at one point my bedroom was 38°. A memory foam pillow feels like a rock at those temps!
All BS. Woke up to about 4.5" of fresh snow here. Pretty normal for February in Chicago. This is the 20th anniversary of a real snow storm - 21" with a five foot drift down the length of my driveway. Overall, winter is pretty wimpy these days.
Normally wimpy. Real weather has wimped out over the last 50 years. Something about temperatures not getting consistently cold enough anymore to have real winter. As a kid a few -5 degree or colder mornings delivering papers in January was pretty much expected. Now instead of consistent cold or hot, we get the high drama thrashing weather. Kind of like living with a symphony orchestra, and then being interrupted by a metal band at intermission.
Listening to a weather report is like listening to chicken little on a daily basis. Every event is going to kill us all any moment and then it doesn't.
Mass manufactured clown world fear going on in Indiana. Panic buying (Empty Shelves), gas price gouging and the school called off yesterday when it was 50 degrees. The next generation will be a society of marshmallows and quitters...
So, how's everyone in the storm, holding up in the storm? I see it's ice and mayhem on the road in Texas
Fixed it for you! I was cheering for more snow. We got half of what they were selling. I'm going night sledding in a few minutes. Weeeee! -T
We haven't got shit. About an inch of wet slushy stuff last night and nothing since. Biggest disappointment ever.
