Say I wanted to hire some fast dude like Barney or Hayes or Rossi or such so I can beat Jody Barry's dad in an ASRA team endurace race? Whats the going rate? Who can I get for $100?

I was once a "hired gun*." A friend asked me to ride an endurance race on his FZR400. First time ever on a four stroke race bike.

Every time I rolled off the throttle, I thought the damn thing was about to seize. It scared me.

I was second in line to ride. Luckily (for me), the first rider crashed during his stint. End of opportunity. Thank goodness.

Four strokes? They don't pay me enough to ride those damn things. Paraphrasing The King, of course.
