Need help, international shipping, having a part picked up and shipped from Italy

I found a NOS part at a moto shop/dealer in Italy.
It is no longer available through OEM/NOS channels, they just happen to have it. I will never find it again. It is not even an expensive part. You can find them used, but never new.
The dealer in Italy tells me their local shippers will not ship to US, I have to find a shipper who will pick it up at his shop in Italy, and ship it, deliver it to me.

The part would fit in a shoebox, and weigh less than one pound packaged.

I don't know how to proceed.

Your part guy (in italy) can ship to Yamaha Rick's friend (also in Italy)
Then
Yamaha Rick's friend can ship you your part.

HAve them drop it off at the equivalent to the UPS store and have them ship it.

 

Quick search showed a bunch of UPS service centers in Milan. Seems easy enough for them to drop it off and let you pre-order it shipped.

 

the way it translated, his carrier (probably the carrier that comes to their dealership) doesnt ship to US.... I think thats as far as it goes, he is not going to ship it to me. I must get shipper to pick it up, if going to US.
Its only a $50 part, 1/4-1/2 pound. I think less than a pound when boxed. The seller said he will put it in a box 12"x12"x12".

 

would UPS pick it up on my behalf? How would I contact and find out?

 

How soon do you need it? My sister and her family are in Italy until early August. If there is no reason it can’t ride back on an airplane it might be an option.

 

I dont need it anytime soon. I dont want to bother/hassle people on their vacation though. If they are close, and dont mind, itwould be an option....I just dont want to bother people when they are on vacation having fun/etc.

You can make a ups label and email it to them. Then have ups pick it up from the dealership.
I did it that way when I was buying my parts from the UK.
You would need to go to ups Europe to do it and you would be paying in euros as the shipping from location will be the dealership and delivery would be you.

 

DHL is the go to for shipping from Italy to the USA. I just used it a few months ago for some EYETALIAN PISTONS (not eyetalian cams, this thing doesn't have cams), and it was only like 3-4 days, delivered. Faster than most mail within the US.
