Rusty I recognize your posts from the WERA site. Can you explain your connection to the 5000 pre 90s bikes for sale or your post from 2019 of 2000 vintage bikes being parted out? Are they all in one location? Is there a list of these bikes?

 

I have a friend with a older salvage yard. He does not advertise. I'm trying to help him downsize and locate vintage buyers so this stuff doesn't go for scrap.

 

If the yard is in the 570 area code, that's within driving distance for me!

Does he have an 89 gs500 running (preferred) engine?

I'm not going to travel right now but I would like a spare rz350 engine (or whole bike) and possibly complete but non running rd250s.

Likely you and the yard owner have already thought of this but a list of bikes that are mostly complete may help a lot. Even a list that only covers the more valuable stuff like almost anything European like Ducati, Puch, Maico, Benelli, BMW, Montessa etc. Also a certain age of Japanese motocross bikes are big now because of vintage motocross. Then there is always specific things like early FZ/FZRs, Honda CBX or cb1100, early GSXR etc

 

Honda Z50s, Trail 70s, Trail 90s/110s are also popular. I'd love a Trail 90 to match the one I partially revived and then gave up on as a kid.

 

Any 88-89 Slingshot 750s?

 

Any early 87-90 CBR 600 bikes?
