I should have known better on this one. There is an LRRS guy who once openly professed his hatred for candy corn. He should have kept quiet. Soon afterwards people kept leaving bags of it in his garage at the track, they mailed it to him. One time, somebody found his house and left a few bags on the windshield of his car. His dog managed to reach them, ate them all and got sick all over his carpet in the house. They post something with candy corn every year on his birthday.
So that's candy corn? Heard about it but always assumed it was caramelized Popcorn, or something similar. No idea what it tastes like but intuitively, it shouldn't be allowed anyway near a pizza....
It shouldn't be allowed near anyone's mouth. All the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1936. They've been trying to sell it off every year at Halloween since.
It's horrid stuff. You can safely go to your grave never having tried it. A dog vomiting that shit up must have been colorful, to say the least.
I would have guessed 30 was accurate until I saw your post and looked it up. Founded in 1975. Had no idea it was that long ago. I would have guessed late 80s.
In '74-'75(?), I went to the computer lab at IU or PU, can't remember which, and was given a tour. A classroom sized room was sporadically lined with huge electronic cabinets. In the center was another large cabinet containing a monitor (CRT) and keyboard. They had the first game of Asteroids I had ever seen on display. I played a bit and, big whoop, I lost interest...all this for that? Pfft, I was more excited about the red LED digital watch I found in the floor drain of the kitchen I worked in '78. Not much has changed in my view of these flashy/blinky light appliances and I haven't owned a digital watch since '85. Candy Corn s!
