My favorite band when I was a 7 year old kid in 1968.

So I've got a plan...take the 2 remaining Monkees and 2 Beatles and create a supergroup. I could be their manager!

    Yeah, that's the ticket!

Yeah but the Beatles were so heavily influenced by the Monkeys.

I got into a fight with the kid across the street because I thought the Monkees were better than the Beatles.

    By the way...I won:p

As a kid I really enjoyed the Monkees. I'm saddened as yet another piece of my youth crumbles to dust.

On an unrelated note I really enjoyed seeing Mickey Dolenz in one of those Firemen concerts (where every has-been star or group over the last 50 years comes out and plays one or two songs). It sounded like there may have been some legal entanglement that wouldn't allow him to play the theme song to their TV show.
