I can’t, unfortunately I’m a glazier/installer and these are what we encounter the most. Still working, no fuss. I don’t handle any electrical as that’s outside our scope. The only electronic versions I’ve seen rely on magnetic contacts routed through and alarm system with a notification tone similar to the ADT style home systems. I did however stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and could walk you through a simple system if you want to hassle with buying all the components.

Where are you located? I am in the door/windows industry and need a good company to use for storefront install.

What about just hanging a bell on the door frame, like what they do in a lot of old time stores.
