High BPM Music

A couple of years I got into listening to a bunch of electronic music for workouts and when trying to focus and get things done because the high BPM is really motivating but that music sucks and I burned out pretty quickly. By accident, I found a replacement that isn't so hard on the ears. Of all things, Bluegrass! Who'd have thought? :D

Check out Split Lip Rayfield if you want to get above 200.

I heard that, if you could make it so the faster you run, the lower the volume goes down, bluegrass is the perfect music to use for workouts.

The Dead Kennedys used to play pretty fast, if you want high bpm non electronic stuff.

Bluegrass would make me want to finish the workout as fast as possible so I could stir my brain up with a screwdriver.......

  8. Jazz Fusion. Nobody plays faster or with more energy than jazz fusion geezers. Unlike electronica, it doesn't get boring.

I'm thinking the odd time signatures would make it hard to get into a rhythm.

Unlike people playing jazz fusion, people working out like to get into a rhythm

EDIT: too slow on the joke gets me a jazz fusion version of sad trombone

I tried all kinds of stuff from Beck to Bruckner, but it was either too distracting at the gym or ruined my situational awareness whilst running so I ditched it all.

For motivation, I just think back on all the burgers, beer and smokes from the past and realize I have to live until my 4 y.o. gets through college and into her first home. (I'm 46...yikes)

Man, why all the hate for bluegrass? It's the giggity.

Whitewater - Fleck, Bush, et al
Sittin' On Top of the World - Seldom Scene
    anything by Bill Monroe
Blue Mule - Old and In The Way (incidentally, if I ever get a sports car racing team together, I'ma call it Blue Mule Racing)

I don't hate bluegrass. (Edit: Previous response was perhaps taking things too far)

Borrow a turntable. Select a few prime LPs. Make an MP3 playing them at 45.

    You're welcome.

I'm not sure the traffic engineers would appreciate the designs I'd turn in if I was on molly.
